Local Area Info
South East London is less densely populated and with more parks and open spaces than
other quarters of the capital. South East London is fast 'arriving'
as a very desirable area in which to live.
Most parts are served by excellent bus and rail services into Central
London and the City, and
we now have the benefit of the innovative and picturesque Docklands
Light Railway (DLR) extension, which opened on schedule in January
2000. The DLR, which previously ran only north of the river linking
the City to Island Gardens at the south end of the Isle of Dogs,
has now been extended under the river to a newly-built station at
the Cutty Sark at the heart of West Greenwich.
